22 unforgettable episodes of Primetime animation you should see someday!
On this I have written down a list of episodes from primetime cartoon series. Even though a majority of these episodes I really like, I didn’t add them to the list as to be my favorites. These episodes I believe are the most defiant in adult cartoon humor. Even though they’re not all the most well known I put them on here because I think they’re the most deserving to see and to be recognized by their sense of humor, the twists in the plots of the episodes, and the colorful, unique originality in these outstanding works of art. And I believe that everybody should see these episodes at least once in their lives!
#22 American Dad Pilot
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/4656717.jpg)
Now I’m not the greatest fan of this show however I do like to watch it occasionally. I believe it is Seth’s second best success in my opinion for a series. This episode is pretty funny and kicks off what happens in this dysfunctional family. Plane and simple. I don’t have an exact favorite episode but if you like Seth Macfarlane and are interested how this show works, this would be a good way to start off.
#21 Space ghost: coast to coast- Bat Mantis
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/9632103.jpg)
Now I wanted to make sure I got this on the list and thank goodness I did. I put this episode here because of its great parody of batman. The characters constantly refer to the original Batman TV show with jokes. It also guest stars Adam West, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt of who all starred in the original Batman Series (which makes it funnier yet)
#20 Home movies- Writer’s block
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1366855.jpg)
Now if you’re a fan of this show like I am I’m pretty sure you’ll love this episode. This is probably one of the funniest episodes in the whole show’s existence. The writing is extraordinary, the situations of the characters are just simply funny, and the humor is just outright great and unique.
#19 Beavis and Butt-head- Vaya Cornholio
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/7727963.jpg)
This episode hit the bat for me to become more interested in the show. The psychotic matter of Beavis’ alter ego brings the rather “toilet-styled” humor from probably the most controversial cartoon of all time into entertaining pure brilliant allegory.
#18 Aqua Teen Hunger Force- Total Recarl
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6803163.jpg)
I do indeed like the jokes and humor in this episode. Its situation and plot is just outright insane like the rest of the show which I like. I think it’s probably one of the best ones of this series. And if you enjoy the sick humor used in this how, make sure you’ve seen this one.
#17 South Park- Two days before the day after tomorrow
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/424771.jpg)
This episode I believe is one of the funniest and stupid episodes ever and I know that this episode represents South Park’s true satire concepts. Its humor is of great parody of “the day after tomorrow”. Watch it for yourself to get the true feeling of the show.
#16 Futurama- Anthology of interest II
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/5716604.jpg)
Now this is the second of the Anthology series on this show which is similar to Matt Groening’s other show, the Simpsons which has a special known as “Treehouse of Horror”. It just tells 3 stories about a “what if” question. This one has some really funny humor and parodies of The “Wizard of Oz”, “Space Invaders”, and countless other little things. It is one of my favorites to watch of Futurama.
#15 The Simpsons- Last Exit to Springfield
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6545064.jpg)
This is one of the most well liked episodes of the Simpsons and is considered by many to be the best episode ever of the series. It has a unique humor and jokes throughout the episode along with other serious and outstanding moments. If you want to see a Simpsons episode make sure you sneak this one in sometime.
#14 King of the Hill- Pilot
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6692064.jpg)
From the 3rd longest running animated series, this was the first episode that started it all. Not because it was the first episode of this sitcom did I pick it but because of the situations and the humor that start it off through a long journey. The jokes and humor start off right away in the show with the famous “Yep. Yep. Yep. Mhmm.” Quote that would stand out through the show’s entire run. There is also plenty of other jokes in the whole episode so no need to get bored.
#13 Family Guy- North by north Quahog
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1016777.jpg)
This episode has some good jokes but its not on the list because of that. This was the first episode of Family Guy that aired after two years of cancellation. Since the show had taken its second run it has become now one of the most popular cartoons out there thanks to its second chance starting off with this one. There is a great joke at the beginning that refers to its cancellation along with several other shows on Fox.
#12 Family Guy- Petarded
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1066391.jpg)
This is one of Family Guy’s most popular and well reviewed episodes. It is the episode where Peter discovers he is mentally retarded. Because of this it leads to many hilarious situations throughout the show. True fantastic humor.
#11 South Park- Ginger Kids
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/8694109.jpg)
This has become an episode with a major cult following. Even Facebook has started up a “Kick a Ginger Day” because of it with over 20,000 followers. It has now a true legacy and a new prejudice insult known to mankind all because of one little show about so called “pail skinned, freckled, red haired nightmares”. Ah well its TV and its funny.
#10 Robot Chicken- Junk in the Trunk
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/7925970.jpg)
It’s hard to decide on an iconic Robot Chicken episode because it’s random, has no plot, and all the time funny. But this one I always get a kick out of and if you need to see what this show is about, order this one to go. That’s all I need to say.
#9 Home movies- Focus Grill
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1211230.jpg)
This episode is regarded as one of the greatest Home Movies episodes. I think its great too. It is also the series’ final episode. I think it’s cool and ironic yet somewhat sad at the end especially if you’re a fan of this show. I’d recommend you watch a few other episodes to get affiliated with the show’s plot, character’s, and concepts. Then if your curious of how it ends, be sure to watch it then.
8 Aqua Teen Hunger Force- Broodwich
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6237303.jpg)
this is a well-liked episode. I think its pretty funny with the situation and comedy involved. The plot is actually pretty interesting too. Anyways, if you’re trying to get into Aqua teen go with this one first.
#7 The Ren and Stimpy Adult party cartoon- Ren seeks help
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1632350.jpg)
If you like John K. and his true theories of his cartoons, you’ll like this show. This is from the spin-off series of “the Ren and Stimpy show”. After John K. (creater) got fired from the original show, he would years later revive the odd duo in this his adult oriented spin-off, known as the“Adult Party Cartoon” series, which would allow him to express how he really wanted the show to work with his freedom to make Ren and Stimpy to act without Nickelodeon up his rear end all the time. However the show only lasted for 6 official episodes with only 3 of them airing on spike TV. All of them are pretty good but I think this is the best psycho-drama cartoon ever. In this episode you discover Ren’s childhood!
#6 King of the Hill- A firefighting we will go
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/461318.jpg)
This I think is a very special episode of King of the Hill. I absolutely love it because of its humor. I think it is by far one of the funniest King of the Hill episodes of all time (at least 1 or 2) it also distracts from the original setting going with the situations of characters ,Dale, Hank, Bill, and Boomhauer as they tell their flashback stories when they were volunteer firefighters and they burn down the firehouse. This one I’m sure will make somebody bust a gut laughing.
#5 The simpsons-Cape Fear
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/8693232.jpg)
Now I’m not saying this is one of my most favorite episodes, but I reviewed it and think it’s the best one with Kelsey Grammer playing his roll as Sideshow Bob. It is full of great jokes and the writing/plot line works out pretty well and stands out the most from many. It is also acclaimed highly by many fans and critics to be one of the best ( as #2 according to Entertainment weekly which this episode was beaten by “last exit to Springfield”) so I think it’s passable on my list as #5 of what you should see at least once. This one definitely stands iconic to the “Bart vs. Bob” episodes from probably the best primetime animated series ever created.
#4 South Park- Scott Tenorman must die
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6954739.jpg)
Its known to be one of the most epic South park episodes by many South Park fans. And it would change the way you would see a fat 3rd grade smartass turn into an evil child. For the 1st time you would see the true evil side of Cartman. For this reason, this episode has one of the biggest twists out of these many episodes.
#3 Futurama- Space Pilot 3000
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1582998.jpg)
I believe that this may be one of the best pilots to a show ever. It starts right of the bat with good jokes and jokes on this show never get old. This episode is still definitely one of the funniest. And it starts of with strong hints to future episodes, and also ends with a rather very humorous twist. So if you want to see this amazing series from the brain of Matt G., then start off with this one working your way through.
#2 Family Guy- I dream of Jesus
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/4659078.jpg)
Now I believe that this may be the funniest Family Guy episode of all time. I had never laughed so hard at an episode before. Many people think it the same way too. Not only the joke of making a corny Garage rock song from the 60s a popular thing again but also the plot to be very crazy too. Either way this episode tends to get stuck in your head very easily. That’s the power of this “once a failure” show.
#1 The Simpsons- Treehouse of Horror VI
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/6092013.jpg)
It’s really hard to say what my favorite Simpsons episode is or even from many other cartoons. But I do know that this is my favorite Halloween special. It had changed how the world would see Homer and Bart for they were animated in CGI for the first time. That was especially exciting since 3D animation was at its peak of popularity. Otherwise besides the amazing animation it has many good jokes and humor. It is by far one of the most unique of all episodes from any of these shows to appear. And I think its truly one of the most unforgettable. In short terms I should say “watch it someday”!

My Biggest Influences.
under this list I put my favorite musicians and cartoonist/animators that had the biggest impact on me and my creativity.
cartoonists/animators
#1 Matt Groening
![Picture](/uploads/5/7/9/9/5799060/1345746881.jpg)
Groening in the middle
If you have seen my work, you can tell my cartoons have a strong influence on the drawing techniques. He has become one of the most famous and influential cartoonists creating the "Life in Hell" Comic strip series as well as the renoun animated series, "The Simpsons" and "Futurama". His work is extremely original and briliant.
Seth Macfarlane
for a long while I had been a major fan of Macfarlane's creations and the humour in his cartoons were just great and I've tended to draw influence off of it very much. Especially with "Family Guy". However his creation of the spin-off called "The Cleaveland Show" I think caused spark and power in his creations has caused the influence to dwindle for me a little bit do to that his shows have been recently dissapointing and unimaginative.
Mike Judge
Dispite the failure of "The Goode Family" his work has impacted primetime animation for years. "Beavis and Butt- Head" have been cultural icons for a long while and are one of the most famouse cartoon duos of all time. He also found success in co creating the long lasting animated series, "king of the Hill".
John K
Before Beavis and Butthead, Family guy and Southpark there was Ren and Stimpy. besides the fact of it being on Nickelodeon and labeled as a kids show, it was very controversial and it was a major ifluence on adult animation. Adults and teenagers tended to watch it more than kids and that is still the case. John K. the creater of the show, tends to have classic animation influence but has a more bizzare, absured and blue humorist texture. however beacuse of his style he has been pushed away from mainstreame society. however he went on making music videos, the first flash animated series (Goddamn George Liquor Program) and most recently greating animating a couch gag fro the simpsons.
Richard Williams
An endangered species. He is one of the most tallented, yet underrated animators existing to day. He is the brainpower for putting ahead the direction of the animation process in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". He also has Directed the tortured film "The Thief and the Cobbler" which in the sence has beautiful animation. But, like many money-hungry businesses would do, the film studios had the film torn apart and re-edited to make it so-called "commercially acceptable". Williams was kicked out from finishing his own expected masterpiece. No thanks to them, ended up becoming a failure. There have been unsucessful attempts to try and put it back into Williams' original vision. Hopefully someday His work will be put in the direction it should have.
Don Hertzfeldt
I respect this guy highly. An independent animator who has put effort on his cartoons for years almost completely by himself. plus he never has sold out to make these films. they are so unique and i think his style works for him. Billy's balloon!
